The historic
Public Market , in downtown Seattle, is HUGE, and easily walked to from Downtown Seattle's financial district (10-15 minute walk). You'll find many hand-crafted items, restaurants, food booths, and a micro-brewery. There is a small luxury hotel in this fabulous market!
Hotels North of Downtown:
Lake Union - Just north of downtown
The "U-District" (University of Washington) is just north of Lake Union, and is also very close to downtown Seattle.
Northgate and the wonderful Northgate Mall is a short distance north of the U-District.
Aurora North refers to stretch of Highway 99 that is just inside Seattle's northern-most city limits. Before I-5 was constructed, highway 99 was the only north-south highway.
Edmonds is just a "stone's throw" north of Aurora North. Edmond's is a city in it's own right (not part of Seattle). However people routinely commute from Edmonds to work in downtown Seattle. This is a terrific destination town if you're visiting the Seattle area. Historic Edmond's city center is quaint! It is located a couple of miles west of Aurora Ave., near the water (Puget Sound). There are a variety of interesting and unique shops housed in "old-timey" buildings and a beautiful beach-park is a short walk from the town-centre.
Lynnwood is just north of Edmonds on Highway 99 (Aurora Ave.). Or, if you're on I-5 you'll see signs for Lynnwood.
