Romantic Driftwood Key, in Hansville, Washington

Above right: Drifwood Key's clubhouse and swimming pool. Driftwood Key is a quiet community of getaway homes and retirees, about three miles from Hansville's little town.
Some home owners can step off their back porch onto their own sandy beach. They're likely to have a place on the beach, among the driftwood, where the family gathers to sit on the logs around a campfire and roast marshmallows.
What's more, some residents have their homes up on the hill! They enjoy the community pool and spectacular view of the Driftwood Key community and Puget Sound. Splendid. Absolutely splendid!
Salmon fishing (from the beach!) is a short distance away at Point No Point.
To get there: Drive from Kingston to Hansville as described here. Drive on through Hansville (the road makes a sharp left in front of Hansville's little grocery store). From the grocery store, go about two miles. Turn left at Hood Canal Rd. NE. Go about a mile and you'll see Driftwood Key, and the water, on your right.
Hotels are in nearby Poulsbo.
