Buck Lake, in Hansville, Washington Hotels are in nearby Poulsbo ("Little Norway!")
Gorgeous, eh?!
But, I was here early. Soon, families started trickling into the park. Mostly ladies with kids wearing water-wings.
About an hour later, the fellas showed up with charcoal briquettes and fresh-caught salmon from Point No Point.
To get there: Drive from Kingston to Hansville as described here. Buck Lake is just over a half mile from Hansville's little town. There are only a handful of businesses in Handsville. You'll go down a steep hill just before you get into town. At the bottom of the hill, you'll easily spot a repair shop on your left (On ahead is Handsville Realty, a grocery store, and the fire department across the street from the grocery store).
The landmark you want is the repair shop, on your left when you first come down the hill into town. Turn left at the intersection where the repair shop is and follow the road. The road will wind around through a pretty neighborhood and, after about seven-tenths of a mile, you'll see the park entrance on your right (Don't get mixed up and turn at the sign that points to Buck Lake's boat ramp. Pass that by. You'll know the main park entrance when you see it.
If you'd like to visit Hansville for a weekend getaway, hotels are in nearby Pousblo, which is also known as "Little Norway!"
