Northwest Charm's
Privacy Statement

NorthwestCharm.com is a family-friendly web directory focused on travel and enjoyment of life in the Pacific Northwest. Being that our website is a web directory, we link to many other web-sites. We do not manage websites that we link to and cannot be responsible for the privacy practices or content of those web-sites.

Northwest Charm will respect the confidentiality of any information that you provide to us.

Unless compelled to do so by law, we will not convey ANY information about visitors to our website, our customers, or our advertising clients (except information that you and Northwest Charm have mutually agreed to include in your Advertise ments) to ANY outside party except for the express purpose of completing services, product deliveries, or purchase-transactions that you have requested.

Northwest Charm will NOT, under any circumstances, sell or barter ANY information about its customers or advertising clients to ANY third party.

Cookies: Northwest Charm does not use cookies. Our internet service provider (Earthlink) does provide us with access to our website's log, which tells us how many visitors each of our webpages has received, and provides us with demographic information, such as what web-site or search engine referred the visitor to us. This demographic information does not enable us to identity individuals who visit our website, but it does help us to determine what kinds of enhancements we should make to our website (i.e. We can determine what pages are popular and what pages are less popular, what search phrases are most often used, and what website(s) or search engine(s) are refering visitors to NorthwestCharm.com).

Northwest Charm's mailing list: Our objective is be what you want us to be, and do what you want us to do, while involving as little of your time and attention as possible. To that end we generally prefer to correspond via e-mail. If you receive an e-mail from us, it will likely be because (1) we visited your website and wanted to let you know how much we liked it or (2) we are replying to an e-mail you sent to us.

Spam: We will not use mass e-mail techniques. If you are a webmaster, NorthwestCharm.com might possibibly initiate contact with you via e-mail. If we do contact you, it will be a personally written e-mail letter. Our reason for contacting you will be to let you know that we have visited your website (And, sometimes, we will have visited your town or establishent) and really enjoyed our visit!

We will not send "spam" to people who have visitied our website, nor to our advertising clients or customers (We don't know how to send spam and don't want to know how). We have no intention (nor any inclination) to send you superfluous mail, nor will we bother you with unnecessary phone calls. If your phone rings in the evening it won't be us (unless you and we are working on a project together, and we have pre-arranged to talk).

To the extent that it is possible and practical, communications with you will be via e-mail. Information that we mail to you (via e-mail or U.S. Postal Service) will be for reasons such as:

  • Project-related inquiries (For example: to determine your preferences regarding a project we are working on for you).
  • To confirm that you are satisfied with an Advertise ment(s) that we have designed for you (For example: "We made those changes you asked for in your web-page. Does it look more like what you have in mind, now?").
  • Administrative (For example: To notify you regarding advertising policies, or for billing purposes).

We'd love to hear from you. Do drop us a note at editor@northwestcharm.com (Yes, Cathryn and I own northwestcharm.com. I've just always favored the title, "Editor").

Yours very Cordially,
Joel Goller - NorthwestCharm.com
